Hi there...
My name is Melissa Cursons. I want to thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. I'm SO glad you're here. This is an opportunity to for you to know who this girl is who is typing up a storm about physical therapy... I was accepted to the School of Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan after completing a 4 year B.A. in Psychology. I completed my B.Sc. P.T. in 2003 and have worked in a range of different environments (acute care, including ICU in both Regina and Yorkton, Saskatchewan, outpatient services, and paediatric services). I am grateful for all of the amazing clinicians I have worked with over the years. Each of them have guided me to become the physiotherapist that I am today. I have had the great opportunity to volunteer with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and a research team out of CanChild at McMaster University. It seems to me that as I have continued to grow as a clinician - I have become even more passionate about family-focused services and enhancing the experience of the families I work with. This is what helped me to decide that it was time to go pursue my Masters of Rehabilitation Science through McMaster University. I started this blog to take you on this learning journey with me. As you might guess - I don't spend all of my time working and studying. I am a wife to Tom and a mother to Iain and Quinn. Parenting siblings is a crazy adventure that I am learning about as we go through each phase of their lives. Outside of family life - I enjoy gardening and photography. I would love to hear your responses to my thoughts on the blog. Feel free to email me at any time: inspiremyptheart@gmail.com With my deepest gratitude, Melissa |
